Droppin gum drops and more like nobody's business!
You won't believe how many candy brands fall under the Farley's & Sathers Candy Company. That's because the company was formed, originally as Favorite Brands International, for the purpose of acquiring multiple candy operations. It started with Kraft's marshmallow and caramel lines. So when you see Jet Puffed marshmallows at the grocery store, those are from Farley's & Sathers. The next year they acquired both Sathers Candy and Farley Foods, hence the name. Farley started in 1870 and merged with another Farley-owned candy maker 20 years later. They manufactured huge lines of chocolates, fruit snacks, and other candies. Sathers was a candy rebagger, meaning they bought in enormous bulk and bagged the candy for sale at retail. Farley was one of their main suppliers. As a combined entity they went on to acquire many more well-known candy brands, including Chuckles, Now and Later, Fruit Stripe Gum, the Brach line of fruit slice candy, and the North American manufacturing arm of Trolli gummies.
