Annabelle Candy Company started when founder Sam Altshuler started making candy right in his own kitchen. Although he got started as a young man, he didn't officially launch Annabelle Candy Company, named after his daughter, until 1950. Their original creation was the Rocky Road bar, the only bar they sold for the first years of the company's existence. Once in charge of the company, Annabelle herself made a few strategic acquisitions in the 70s to expand ACC's line. They included the iconic Abba-Zaba Bars, Big Hunk, and Look. Later the company acquired the U-NO bar. While many candy companies have expanded greatly, introducing many different brands, Anabelle's has stuck to its core. The only original is Rocky Road, still sold.
