Blow Pops weren't the first creation of the Charms Company, but they're the company's best sellers of all time. Originally introduced in the early 70s under the name Triple Threat, the iconic lollipop was rebranded as Charms Blow Pops in 1973, more than 60 years after the company's founding. Despite a small line of products, Charms became the world's largest producer of hard candy -- largely on the power of the Blow Pop. The name Blow Pop became ubiquitous in popular culture and spawned many references, including an indie power pop band and a song by hip hop artist Gucci Mane. They're also very popular for fundraising drives. In 1988 the Tootsie Roll Company acquired Charms Company, uniting the Blow Pop with another immensely popular candy filled lollipop, the Tootsie Pop. The Tootsie Roll Company is now the world's largest manufacturer of lollipops.
